These frames do not tell the entire story truthfully.
Due to the width of the lenses, the camera is moved forward and backwards
to fill the frame with the resolution test image. As a result, the
resolution measurements are not necessarily at the centerpoint of the
frame, where resolution is always highest. However, had the zoom feature
of the camcorders been used, it would have a significant impact on the
resolution measurement.
As a result, some lenses may appear to offer a
slightly lower resolution than they actually present, while at the same
time, resolution is obviously decreased as the camera is moved backwards
from the test screen/target. In the case of the Baby Death and Royal .3
images for instance, the camcorder is less than 6" away from the target
image/chart. |
