Note that in this apology, Gary fails to address the VASST.net registration, and only addresses the registration of my name.
Additionally, Gary claims to have apologized "immediately" but his first posts on the Sony forum tell a different story. No apology ever came until we were at WEVA on August 10, 2005. His apology consisted of "I don't really think I did anything wrong but I'm sorry it bothered you." I personally suspect Gary was recording the discussion, as his video camera was turned on.
Notice that Gary also admits to "commonly register domain names that are related to his business/products." I'd surely like to know how VASST and Douglas Spotted Eagle relate to Gary's products.

If Gary Kleiner "registers available domain names which may be associated with his products as is common practice," shouldn't other people be worried in the video business? Gary Kleiner deliberately registered domains relating to VASST and Douglas Spotted Eagle where there is no actual relationship other than that VASST makes training vids that compete with Gary's, and those training vids feature Douglas Spotted Eagle; should other videographers, producers, or training video authors be concerned?
