 Native American flutes are available in unfinished or finished form. These flutes are NOT the professional style flutes used by Douglas in his stage performances, but rather the educational flutes that he uses to teach people how to play. Ranging in cost from 12.00* to 35.00*, these are all-wood flutes, with a beautiful sound. They are the same flute used by Douglas on the "Sacred Feelings" CD. Each comes with a small booklet on how to play and finish your instrument.

**12.00 flutes are unsanded, unfinished. 35.00 flutes are sanded, finished, and have a leather tie on the saddle. Unfinished flutes are best for school children as the child can decorate and finish the flute to their own personal satisfaction. All flutes play alike, all are tuned the same. 

 

Finished, sanded, w/leather tie (FL002)

This is the finished flute, with a deerskin tie on the block, stained in oak or walnut. Each flute is checked for consistency in tone before shipping. These are not a concert tuned instrument, but rather a traditionally tuned instrument, with each finger hole measured by finger, not mathematics. Great for beginners, or those that prefer traditional tunings. 

This volume, written by Douglas at the age of 19, is 140 pages of information about making bows, arrows, quivers, shooting tips, techniques, historical information. Over 120 pictures, including shots of Douglas with his first buffalo hunt, (with a primitive bow and arrow) and read about how Douglas beat Olympic Gold Medalist Jay Barrs at an archery show in Salt Lake City, Utah, with the primitive bow. (The book doesn't say much about how Mr. Barrs could have beat Douglas blindfolded using standard archery equipment)
