Center Artist, Douglas Spotted Eagle travels with UHF in-ear monitor system. He also travels with a headset UHF wireless mic system.  No monitor wedge is required for center stage, although an XLR or TRS feed must come from monitor console to input of Garwood transmitter, send at line level. Storyteller and additional performer also wear wireless UHF microphones equipped with headset mikes.  CD player is provided by Artist.

  • Our backdrop should be hanged at least 30 feet upstage to leave room for dancers.
  • 4 direct boxes are needed at either stage right or stage left. 2 DI’s are fed with flute signal in stereo, and the remaining 2 DI’s will be fed with CD audio to be operated from the stage.
  • House sound system shall consist of not less than 7 channels of input, with a minimum of 1 monitor (2 preferred) send to stage foldback system. CD audio must also be heard in the monitor system. System shall provide clean, hum free sound to all points of the venue.  Sound system MUST have at least 15"(fifteen inch) drivers for bottom end. The ROM tracks used in the performance have a 6 dB rise at 80 hz for impactive, powerful bass.
  • AC power shall need to be located not less than 20 feet from center stage.
  • A fog machine or mister is required. (NOT required for school only performances, but we prefer to have one in order to present performance at it's best)
  • Video must be operated from a point where operator can cover the projector lens when video is not running, so that no blue screen or static screen is projected during program, or in the alternative, a switching system accomplishing the same task shall be incorporated. Video may be flown from batten in event of a switching system being used. As an alternative, video may be operated from stage apron.  No audio feed is required from video player. Artist will provide technical director with blocking script in order to assure that video operator is aware of when video is to be used. Video is projected onto painted backdrop, no screen is required.
  • Lighting is required at each of the microphone areas, preferably with 2 specials of differing color. Upstage area to be washed with amber (Rosco 321), light reds (Rosco 27), and blues (Rosco 68) to completely light dancer’s area. A minimum of 1 spot operator, 1 mister/fogger operator is required. (mister/fog operator may be script reader or Technical Director) For non-school performances, 2 spot operators, and 2 backstage operators/assistants are required.
  • Please have bottled water behind the stage for artists use. If artists are to be in venue for a period exceeding 4 hours, please arrange for a meat/deli tray to be at their disposal.
  • Our load in/sound check time for this performance is approximately one hour
  • This performance does not travel with a Technical Director, therefore a script reader/director is required with a clearcom connected to all technical personnel. (Spot ops, video op, lighting op, sound engineer)

Technical checklist:

  • 1-video projector w/VHS tape machine (Eiki 350 projector or larger/similar)
