NII'DIIN'SCHLII'

The CD refers to this song by it's English semi-translation, "I MISS YOU". The English language prevents many words that are based around emotion to be translated  correctly, so suffice it to say that "I MISS YOU" barely covers the fringes of what Nii'diin'schlii' really means.

That being said, this song in many ways is the most important song I've ever come to know, because of events in my personal life. This song was made for my son, who was the inspiration for this entire recording project. Without his input, it would have never happened. When he left us, I wanted to leave a musical legacy for my family and friends to look at with loving feelings for his short time with us. With that in mind, we set about to shoot a music video of the song. Below are some photos of the video shoot. All shots are captured from the actual video itself.

It was a scary thing filming that day, because it had rained the night before, and the sides of the Salt Flats were wet and spongy. Taking a $50,000.00 piano belonging to Yamaha out on the desert was a major concern. Special thanks to Murray, Utah's Piano Superstore for providing us with this magnificent instrument. Even when their truck got stuck axle deep in salt and mud, they did not complain. They delivered it, set it up, and took it back for us, on the very day that the devastating tornado hit Salt Lake City, destroying buildings, injuring hundreds, and killing one man. We had a crew, equipment, trucks, piano, brass bed, and the people in the shoot all on the desert floor, where the morning temperatures were in the low hundreds, the salt was in everything, and then the storm hit, with temperatures dropping to about 60 degrees. The winds were intense, to the point where when Douglas was holding a blanket up, the wind knocked him down.

Extra special thanks to our camera man, Brian M., set designer, Todd, Rae, Keri, Herman, Herwin, Carol, Danielle, Danial, Linda, JD, Tim, Susan/Yamaha Artist Services, Lori, and Sharon. They were our crew, cast, and support. Thanks to Higher Octave Music, Redman Movies, Skip, Arrow America, Christopherson Travel, and Jerry Lonn for the opportunity and wherewithall to make this video happen.

Nii'Diin'schlii was edited and finished by Indigipix, this was their second project for us, and their first music video. In the past, they've specialized in Native American documentary. Check em' out!
